Below are some of the most frequently asked questions. If you have another question about our online learning programme, please contact us directly via phone or email.
How easy it it to use?
We compared ClassDojo with similar apps and chose to use it because it is simple and straightforward. Many children are able to navigate the app independently and submit their learning with minimal support.
Can I access the learning without the app?
No. ClassDojo is where teachers will post all resources, instructions and links to videos. Most YouTube videos will be unlisted and will require a link to access. All feedback and communication takes place using the app.
How much does it cost?
The app itself is free to download and use. However, the log-in information is only provided to members of the school community who have paid the required fees.
Can my child use it themselves or do I need to help?
This depends entirely on your child. Most older children are able to log-in and access all of the learning independently each day. The younger the child, the more support they will require. For Reception, Kindergarten and Playgroup, the programme is designed to be facilitated by an adult at home. We encourage parents to share in the learning with their children.
What happens if we don't complete all of the activities?
Activities remain on ClassDojo for a number of days and teachers understand that home schedules vary greatly. Whilst we strongly recommend that you encourage your child to complete all activities, the service is there to suit your family's needs. There is no obligation to complete everything each day.
Do we have to join in with all of the live events?
Again, this service is here for you to use as best fits your family. There is no requirement to participate in live events. We try to offer a broad range of activities that allow people to feel connected - to feel part of the school community. You can access as much or as little as you like.
I am finding this difficult. What should I do?
If you are having problems accessing the app, contact the school on 0718-956-317 and a member of the leadership team will be able to assist you.
If the level of learning is too challenging, or you are finding it difficult to motivate your child to complete activities, contact the class teacher. All teachers can be contacted through the app at any time. Send them a private message and they will be able to offer support, advice and encouragement.
My videos aren't uploading. What is the problem?
If you are using mobile data, videos longer than 30 seconds may take some time to upload. We recommend using wifi where possible. If a video won't send, simply message the class teacher to explain. They may be able to suggest an alternative.
How secure is ClassDojo?
ClassDojo has been certified by iKeepSafe, an FTC-approved COPPA Safe Harbor, for compliance with their COPPA Safe Harbor program. ClassDojo doesn't ask for or require children to provide personal information beyond that which is reasonably necessary to use ClassDojo. ClassDojo’s servers are in highly secure data centers that are access-controlled. ClassDojo ensures all your information is transmitted securely at the software and network level.
